Welcome to wnyProLife.org!
Our mission is to
advocate for the sacredness of all human life from conception until
natural death, and respond to any threats to life such as abortion
and euthanasia. It is our hope to build a "culture of life"
that respects and protects all life, particularly the most vulnerable
among us: the unborn, persons with disabilities, elderly and
terminally ill.
We seek to
accomplish our goal of a truly life affirming society by implementing
the objectives of the Pastoral Plan for Pro-Life Activities of the
United States Conference of Catholic Bishops. The four main
objectives of this plan are:
-
Public Information:
Educate both the Catholic Community and the larger public about
pro-life issues.
-
Pastoral Care:
Provide spiritual/material support for those in need.
-
Public Policy:
An effort directed to ensure effective legal protection for all human life.
-
Prayer & Worship:
directed to participation in the sacramental life of the church &
in programs of communal & individual prayer.
wnyProLife.org is
working with the Buffalo Diocese Office of Pro-Life Activities. This
office maintains a network of chairpersons and committees throughout
the parishes and vicariates of the Diocese of Buffalo and is assisted
in this task by a Respect Life Advisory Board consisting of a cross
section of representation.
A variety of
programs and events are sponsored by this office to support the
objectives of the Pastoral Plan and a consistent effort is made to
provide resources and background information on the medical, moral
and legal aspects of human life issues.
wnyProLife.org is
a public website dedicated to making use of the Internet allowing
anyone needing this information in the hope of continuing the mission
of the work of the Pro-Life office to spread to as many areas of the
Internet as possible.
We invite you to
explore the resources offered here to expand your knowledge and
awareness about what is offered in the Western New York area and how
you might assist in the spread of the "culture of life."
